Vacation Dreaming

Do you enjoy the planning of a vacation more than the vacation itself?  Or am I just an oddball?  I love doing the research on how'll we get there. where we'll stay, what'll we see, eat, drink, visit, etc.....I become more obsessed with the planning, then find that the actual vacation is too stressful.  Maybe I missed my calling to be a travel agent?  To plan and book trips, and not have to take them? Sounds divine to me!  I study the vacation area maps so long, by the time I arrive, I feel like a local and can find my find way around with little difficulty.  So why do I not really enjoy vacations?  Part of it is I feel guilty for spending the money.  As a frequent victim of buyer's remorse, vacation spending gets the same treatment.  Maybe I should have used the funds to beef up my pitiful emergency fund, or use it to pay someone else to repaint the house so it can actually get done this year, or refinish the hardwood floors......anyway, you get my drift.  Am planning an August vacation now, but may end up talking myself out of it long before August!

Why start a blog named Mish Mash and All That?!?

I have a go to dinner "recipe" I use when the fridge is overflowing with leftovers and I just really don't feel creative enough to transform them a 2nd or 3rd time .  I call it Mish Mash, and before you ask, there is no recipe - I just take whatever leftover protein bits, cooked veggie and jarred gravy or canned cream soup I may have in the pantry and combine in a cooking vessel.  I then add some milk to biscuit mix and pour over the top.  No, I don't know the measurements - if I took the time to measure it out, I'd lose steam and never get dinner on the table!  That puppy gets baked (usually at 350 degrees) for however long it takes, but its no less than 30 min and usually no more than 50.  Like I said, not a recipe and since the ingredients are never the same, I call it Mish Mash....and that is exactly what I wanted for this blog.  My interests are so diverse, I'm like a Jack of all trades, but a master of none, so the post topics will vary, but will stick to things that are at the forefront of my mind and take up most of the cerebral landscape in my head!
